Crystal Cruises’ luxury cruise ship, Crystal Symphony, embarked on an eight-day Hamburg to Lisbon voyage last month after emerging from a two-week, US$20m (R224m) dry dock
On board you’ll find heavenly suites fit for royalty to staterooms that would put other cruise liners’ executive suites to shame. The Queens Grill Suites are some of the most luxurious rooms to cruise the sea. With spacious rooms, excellent sized balconies and top of the range service and amenities, this is the best of the best. The Princess Grill Suites are also sophisticated, elegant and extremely comfortable, to say the least. Although slightly smaller than the Queens Grill Suites, they certainly don’t hold back when it comes to luxury. The Britannia Balcony Stateroom is your middle of the range suite. Yet on board the Queen Mary 2, this still means luxury and space. The balcony is a good size and the room is stylishly decorated and definitely lives up to the ships high standards. The Britannia Ocean view room is a smaller, yet elegantly laid out suite with a window and a view of the ocean. The Inside Stateroom would be considered a deluxe room on any other cruise liner, as it holds true to the magnificent styling of the Queen Mary 2.
Fine Dining or a Quick Bite
The culinary delights you will find on board the Queen Mary 2 range from fine dining in the Queens Grill Restaurant or the Princess Grill Restaurant. With immaculate service and an evening of refinement, these venues will ensure your taste buds are tantalised night after night. The Britannia Restaurant and Todd English Restaurant have influence from Cunard’s Global Culinary Ambassador, Jean-Marie Zimmerman and renowned chef, Todd English. The Kings Court restaurant is where you can grab a delicious breakfast or get stuck into the late night buffet. If you’d like to enjoy an afternoon tea with scones and cucumber sandwiches while the orchestra performs for your delight, then the beautiful Queens Room Ball room is where you will want to spend an afternoon or two.
Elegant Bar, Cozy Pub, or Relaxing Lounges
The Queen Mary 2 has just the place for you to settle down after dinner and enjoy a quiet drink, watch the sun dip below the ocean, or spend the evenings in the cozy Golden Lion Pub. From the Veuve Clicquot Champagne bar to the Commodore Club, the Chart Room to the Winter Garden, you’ll find a bar, pub or lounge to suit your every mood.
Seize the Day
Stimulate your mind, relax your body, or invigorate your soul with the many activities and amenities available on board. From Cunard Insights lectures, to the Canyon Ranch Spa Club, shopping boutiques, gyms, fitness classes and swimming pools, you’re sure to relax, unwind and enjoy every day, just the way you want to.
The Balcony Cabins
The balcony cabins on a cruise ship have a small balcony accessible through a sliding door. The balcony is usually big enough for 2 chairs and a table. This can be a welcome addition to your cabin as it allows you to step outside and enjoy your morning coffee with the sea breeze in your face and with just the ocean as your company.
After Dark Delights
Attend an extravagant event like the Black and White Ball, Buccaneer Ball, or the Royal Ascot Ball, or take in a staged musical production. The Queen Mary 2 really comes alive at night, and offers exceptional entertainment. You can even try your luck at the Empire Casino or dance the night away at the G32 nightclub. Do yourself a favour and visit the Commodore Club, Chart Room and Queens Room, where performances by the String Quartet, Jazz performers or resident Pianist will certainly set the mood for an evening of splendour and fun.
Stepping on board the Queen Mary 2 for a holiday, means you will be entering into a world of luxury, elegance and class. The ship is the perfect place to enjoy a time-out from the rest of the world, to be pampered, to unwind, and to enjoy life the way it was intended to be enjoyed – in style!
