Alaskan Cruises

Alaska is one of the world's last great true frontiers, an unspoiled wilderness of glimmering glaciers, abundant forests, towering mountains, exotic wildlife, and waterfront communities. Our Alaskan cruises depart from the Canadian city of Vancouver in beautiful British Columbia, or Seattle, in the USA, situated in the green, gorgeous haven of Washington State.

Destination Overview

Choose your Alaskan cruise destination

Icy Strait Point

Icy Strait Point offers close encounters with whales and brown bears, as well as Kayaking and fishing, shopping and great food. The Icy Strait Point Zip Rider is the world’s longest zip line (known to South Africans as a foofy slide). It is 1624m long, with a 400m vertical drop, and it offers a pulsating 1.5 minute long ride on the background of some of the world’s most amazing views.

Hubbard Glacier

The Hubbard Glacier is North America’s largest tidewater glacier. It is 122Km long and 11Km wide, with 100m exposed above the waterline and 76m hidden below. For the past 100 years the Hubbard Glacier has been advancing at approximately 24.5m per year.

Juneau

Visitors to Juneau, the capital of Alaska, rave about this beautiful city. Popular visiting places are the Alaskan Brewing Company, producer of the famous Alaskan Amber, and Hangar on the Wharf, the best place in town for fresh halibut tacos or beer battered halibut and chips.

Ketchikan

Ketchikan is Alaska’s southeastern most city. It is situated in the heart of the Tongass National Forest, a vast natural gem that is 65,000 square kilometres in size, about the size of Lithuania or Sri Lanka. A cruise to Ketchikan offers superb fishing and outdoor recreation and is known for its thriving culture and amazing scenery. Having been selected as one of “America’s Top 100 small arts communities”, Ketchikan has an impressive array of shops and galleries with work done by local artists. Ketchikan eateries offer delicious, not to be missed, wild Alaska seafood

Skagway

The picturesque city of Skagway (or “Skagua”, meaning “windy place”) maintains fascinating memorabilia from the gold rush period and during the summer cruising season thrives with thousands of visitors landing on its shores daily. The town relies completely on tourism for its survival and offers visitors an inside look into what it was like during the gold rush era. You’ll be spell-bound by the tales of notorious locals like Soapy Smith and Frank Reid, and will thoroughly enjoy the tours of the saloons, cabins and brothels dating back over 100 years. Alaska is a destination full of Native American culture and Russian influence, a step back in time to the days of gold rush saloons and oil booms. A cruise to Alaska, simply put, is a once in a lifetime, dream holiday. The geography of Alaska also means that a cruise is simply the best way to experience the range of places, sights and towns of this amazing destination.
